Marie-Christine supports the Patvocates Team as a Project Manager with specialist focus on the Optimization of Informed Consent for Clinical Studies. She graduated in Communication Sciences at Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU, Mag. Artium, Depart. of Communication and Media Research) in Munich. Focussing on Health Communication, she wrote her Master Thesis about the Communication Behaviour of Cancer Patients.

After a Trainee at GlaxoSmithKline and a correspondence course as Medical Representative (IHK), Marie-Christine started a scientific project on the Improvement of Informed Consent in Clinical Trials. In close cooperation with Jan Geissler and the University of Passau she developed an optimized, patient-friendly Informed Consent Document that meets both legal and ethical requirements but is also based on internationally accepted guidelines on verbal and visual presentation of information. The optimized Informed Consent Document had already been applied in different clinical studies and received overall positive feedback from investigator, patient and ethical committees.

Besides her scientific engagement, Marie-Christine Hollerith graduated as Media Designer and is working as a freelancer in the health care sector with focus on patient insights. Together with Jan Geissler she designed and realized the CML Awareness Campaign on CML – “Manchmal ein Kunststück”, worked as Communication Manager for EUPATI (European Patients Academy on Therapeutic Innovation) and supported several graphic / communication projects for CML Advocates, LeukaNET e.V. and within different freelance and agency projects.

Marie-Christine is mother of two infants and lives in Seehausen, Germany.
